The Reviews Don't Lie

2021. The. Dream. Vintage. We were utterly spoilt for choice for the blocks going into our 2021 ‘Old Vine’ Shiraz.

95 Pts from Huon Hooke. 94 Pts from Gary Walsh!

And to top it all, James Suckling also had this cuvee pipped as one of the Top 100 Value Wines of the World.

From Wilton Hill, we were able to use what normally goes into The Brunette i.e. Blocks 9 & 10 (planted 1965) as the base and then a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon from Moculta (planted 1980). We used about 10% whole bunch in open-fermenters and backed off the extractions. Combining this with 20% new French oak barriques (the rest ex-white wine barriques) for 17 months and the wonderful richness and sweetness of ‘Old Vine’ fruit remains in true focus. An extra layer of richness and texture over previous years!

You could drink this 6 months into barrel maturation and for me, the signature of the year was a rich, textural mid-palate and great length of flavour.

Available now. Enjoy!
